Meryl Elaine Black Memorial Scholarship Part II

The Honorable Dale Black-Pennington, PES 1983, established the Meryl Elaine Black Memorial Scholarship in loving memory of her mother.  This scholarship will support a continuing matriculated student who immigrated from Jamaica West Indies. 

Students applying for this award must meet the following criteria and/or complete the following information:
  1. Applicants must have been accepted for admittance to the College for the award academic year.
  2. Open to all currently enrolled and matriculated undergraduate SUNY Old Westbury Students.
  3. Only full-time students are eligible.
  4. Must earn at least a 3.0 grade point average and must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA throughout the award academic year.
  5. Complete a 600-1000 word essay, with a theme of  "What College means to you."
 


NCBW 100 LI Scholarship

The $2,000 scholarship is provided by The National Coalition 100 Black Women, Long Island Chapter, Inc. 
Students applying for this award must meet the following criteria and/or complete the following information:

1. Open to currently enrolled students who hold freshman, sophomore, junior or senior standing and will be matriculated during         the award academic year.  
2. Must be African American female.
3. Have a minimum GPA of 2.7 or better.

SUNY OW Alumni Association Freshman Part II

This $500 scholarship is made available through the generosity of the Alumni Association of SUNY Old Westbury. Funds for this award can only be used for the Fall and Spring semesters.  Students applying for this award must meet the following criteria and/or complete the following information:

1. Open to currently enrolled and matriculated SUNY Old Westbury first year students.
2.  Must have at least a 3.0 GPA at the time of applying.
3.  New Incoming first year students must have an 85 high school GPA or a GED at the time of applying.
4. Two letters of recommendation, from non-relatives, on letterhead.
5. An original essay, 500 words minimum, entitled, How a SUNY Old Westbury Degree Will Assist Me in Meeting      or Exceeding My Goals?
6. Though financial need is not a requirement, applicants are encouraged to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with the College's Office of Financial Aid




The Joyce Harriet Stahl Memorial Scholarship

This scholarsip is made available through a generous gift by the The Joyce Harriet Stahl Scholarship Fund, Inc., to the Old Westbury College Foundation, Inc.  Students applying for this award must meet the following criteria and/or complete the following information:

1. Open to all currently enrolled single parents who are matriculated SUNY Old Westbury students.
2. Currently enrolled SUNY Old Westbury student must have at least a 2.75 (B- average) or greater.  
3. Open to full-time and part-time students.
3. New Incoming first year students must have an 82 high school GPA or greater at the time of applying.
4. Family income shall not exceed $75,000.
5. Though financial need is not a requirement, students are encouraged to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with the College's Office of Financial Aid.
